Mateen Ashraf (MSc Network and e-Business Centred Computing 2007)


I have completed the MSc. in Networks and E-Business Centered Computing and am currently working in software consulting.

Why did you choose to study at the University of Reading?

I was selected for the European Scholarship Program (Erasmus Mundus).

What was the best bit about living and studying in Reading?

The University of Reading has an outstanding research facaulty and facilities. It also has a diverse community of students.

What top tips would you give to students who are beginning their studies?

You have a nice mixture of academic exposure along with a diversified community and an organised campus.

What are you up to now? How did you get there?

I work within software consultancy, which I was able to secure because of academic and professional experience I received during coursework and research work.

What are your top tips for students graduating this year? What should they be doing to secure the job they want?

Stay academically spot on and hardworking.

What does the University mean to you and what is your favourite memory?

The awesome experience I received in University helped me to progress my career to where I am now.I can honestly say that the university life at Reading improved my quality of life and I am thankful to the faculty and facilities.
