After 3 years in retail management, I joined a major accounting firm and have worked for them ever since in many different roles.

Why did you choose to study at the University of Reading?

The combination of the availability of the joint subject, and the campus

What was the best bit about living and studying in Reading?

Being able to walk everywhere within campus and yet still be close to town

If applicable, how did you benefit from spending a year abroad?

Essential for a foreign language student as it gives total immersion in speaking the language and in the culture

What are you up to now? How did you get there?

I am a director in a major accounting and consultancy firm, and have been working overseas for the last 16 years.

How has the University of Reading and the Careers Centre helped in your chosen career path?

The Careers Centre welcomed me back after 3 years when I realized I needed to "start again", and their help was invaluable.

What are your top tips for students graduating this year? What should they be doing to secure the job they want?

Be a well rounded person, with broad interests.

What does the University mean to you and what is your favourite memory?

Meeting my wife of 34 years!
