Why did you choose to study at the University of Reading?

I wanted to leave home but not incur too much in the way of travel costs - I lived in London. The Economics course looked interesting.

Good facilities in Whiteknights. Excellent bands playing. A great range of very pleasant people.

What top tips would you give to students who are beginning their studies?

Plan your time allowing plenty of time for social activities.

What are you up to now? How did you get there?

Retired but formerly head of department/year. Simply by seeking promotion.

Be sure you want to teach. Do not enter simply because you need a job

What are your top tips for students graduating this year? What should they be doing to secure the job they want?

Get work experience if possible. Show genuine enthusiasm at any interviews.

Why did you decide to give to the University of Reading?

I loved my time there and wanted to give something back.
