Urbano Agustín Sonzini Astudillo (MSc Animal Production 1981)

Biography

I live in San Isidro, close to Buenos Aires City, Argentina, with my family: my wife María Crousse and our 7 children, aged 8 to 28. I work as Agronomist Engineer and use to travel all around of Argentina, Uruguay, Brasil, Paraguay and Bolivia. I love so much my work and my family.

Why did you choose to study at the University of Reading?

Because at that time, I was Technical Advisor of a Company of Fertilizers for Patures, and Reading University was the right place to study about Grasses and Legumes.What was the best bit about living and studying in Reading?

Clearly: to improve my knowledge about my work and, on top of that, know deeply the UK, with their unique people and culture!    

What top tips would you give to students who are beginning their studies?

To take the most profits of been involved in different cultures from the whole world, to grow in knowledge and experience.

What are you up to now? How did you get there?

At the first time, I follow working at the same Company for a decade, and after that, I started my own business, selling ranches as a broker of land, in the South of South America.

What would be your top tips for students interested in working in this sector?

Work, work, work! 

How has the University of Reading and the Careers Centre helped in your chosen career path?

I think that the University of Reading helped me in the way of open my mind, knowing different points of view for the solution of different problems that my work presents all times.

What are your top tips for students graduating this year? What should they be doing to secure the job they want?

I think that everyone has to look for his own way, putting good will and compromise in everything that starts. 

What does the University mean to you and what is your favourite memory?

The University of Reading helped myself to open my mind to the whole world, getting friends all over the world.
